"A mechanical digital computing apparatus has three banks of bistable devices, each device being movable between "0" and "1" positions manually and by the passage thereby of balls on a guide track. A number set up on one of the stores of bistable devices is operated on by a number set up on another store by the passage of balls along the guide track in a manner selected by function selection devices which influence the directions taken by the balls.
